Root Canal
Root Canal Procedures in Norwalk, CT

If you have severe pain in your mouth, swelling of the gums, increased sensitivity to hot or cold, or you've noticed a darkening tooth, these are all signs that your tooth's pulp has become infected or is inflamed. Root canal therapy can save a tooth whose pulp is damaged before it's too late.

When you come into our office, we will use the panoramic X-ray to look at what's going on inside of your mouth and teeth. This way we can diagnose you and get you on the right path for treatment. One advantage of the panoramic X-ray is how simple it is. Unlike other X-rays where the film is placed inside the patient's mouth, the panoramic film is in a machine that moves around your head.

A root canal procedure requires the dentist to remove the pulp from the center of a tooth and then fill and seal the pulp cavity. This will prevent the development of a painful infection in the pulp that may spread to other teeth. Root canals are also used to treat an infection that has developed into an abscessed tooth. This procedure can relieve tooth pain, stop the infection, and promote proper healing.

Your root canal can be done under sedation if you are apprehensive about the procedure or have been uncomfortable at the dentist in the past. We want to make sure you are comfortable and calm while in our care.
